There are times in our lives when our confidence are shattered or when we know what we need to do, however we are so down and we can’t think enough to work our way out because we lack courage and energy to move forward.  We may find ourselves fearful and confused in the midst of troubled world.  With all the chaos that is happening right now, God is always there for us. God will not remove us from challenges and difficulties but rather with the Holy Spirit.  God comes to be with us to give us strength and courage.

As we celebrate Pentecost Sunday – the descent of the Holy Spirit and birthday of the Church, we as “the Church” are also celebrating our birthday.  Receiving the Holy Spirit on us we should ask forgiveness of the Lord so we could forgive others.

We know that there are situations that are beyond our control and layers of emotions influenced and impacted by experiences of all kinds. And with that reason we must surrender everything to the hands of our Lord.  Faith and trust in God are truly gifts.  God’s grace was poured upon us; the life that He has given us is the greatest gift.  The Holy Spirit is working in each one of us – a simple smile that gives joy, a simple hug that that shows how you care and every simple act and gesture that shows how important the person is.  The presence of the Lord is alive within us through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.  Through the Holy Spirit, He keeps us close to God and accepts and returns God’s love in living our faith.  He gives us hope and helps us to bring love to extend and share it to others.  Jesus is sending us all out with our mission.  Though we maybe have doubt, fear and confusion, we need to invite and allow the Holy Spirit to enter, to give courage and to open His way through the truth and into our hearts.

If we allow the Word of God and the gift of Holy Spirit to work on us we are able to shape our lives, words, actions and relationship then Jesu and His message are living realities in our lives and our world.  We do not do this on our own and we cannot do this with our strength alone.  It is the action of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.  We are called to make space for the Holy Spirit in our lives.

We pray, “Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Amen!”
