March 17, 2019 ~ St. Peregrine Laziosi Diocesan Shrine. A week ago, Miss Maricres Valdez Castro, the representative for Muntinlupa City in the upcoming Miss Philippines Earth 2019 visited St. Peregrine’s Charity Clinic. Being the CEO and founder of MPN Pilipinas – an organization which was founded with the hope to reach out to those who are struggling with their diagnosis of an MPN (Myeloproliferative Neoplasm), she used the opportunity to give a talk about selfcare, proper nutrition, and even cervical cancer awareness. Raising public awareness on health issues is one of her advocacies as she involved herself in various non-profit organizations such as the Peace Corps, Medical Missions to Pilar Foundation – Philippines, and MM2P Nutrition Program. Aside from talking on various health issues during her visit at St. Peregrine’s Charity Clinic, Ms. Castro serenaded the mothers and children with the Philippine classic “Dahil Sa’yo” (Because of You) https://www.facebook.com/officialmissmuntinlupa/videos/796104314089504/ . She expressed to them how inspired she is because of them – the mothers who work so hard to provide for their children and make sure their needs are met.
