How do you face the world after committing a mistake or failure? Did you just act like nothing happened? Is it still the same? Do you still face the world head up high? Are you going to isolate yourself from others? Or detain yourself in the mistakes you made?
We always say that “life must go on even after we failed”, but as part of the millennial generation, it is hard for us to accept, and to move on. Admitting our mistakes is different from acceptance, and acceptance is different from moving on. We should stop asking why, in order for us to keep going.
For a sinner, it is hard to face the world which is full of criticisms. On the 3rd Sunday on Lent, the gospel shows that we are living in a society with full of judgement. Just like the Samaritan woman, who was afraid of criticism, she failed many times. Jesus Christ shows her that her mistakes will not forever decide who she will become, that sometimes we must fail or undergo sufferings in order for us to be back on the right path, to repent and to be reminded that the love of God is the only thing that never fails us, that it’s never too late to change and get back in the arms of our God, to strengthen our faith and to transfigure ourselves to become better Catholics, for us to be reminded that His door is always open for those people who are willing to be healed.
