As Catholics, we value everything that has to do with our faith in God.  We go to church and attend masses to honour our Saviour Jesus Christ.  We know that we owe Him our salvation and so He therefore has a lot of significance in our lives.  But is that all that we know about Him?  How well and deep do we know our Jesus?

When asked who do we think Jesus is, we often have different answers based on how much knowledge or testimonies we hear about Him.  Sometimes our answers will depend on how often we experience His presence through grace and blessings.  It is not easy to claim that we already know who Jesus really is because as we go along our spiritual journey, we discover more and more about Him.  We learn much of His wisdom from others and our personal encounters as well.

In today’s gospel, Peter reveals to us the fact about who Jesus is.  “You are the Messiah, the Son of the Living God.” How wonderful these words are.  We are presented a very certain information that Jesus, our Saviour is indeed the Son of God. Who lived here on earth to save us all.  And if we hold on to this very fact, it will lead us to know Him parallel to the scriptures and God’s truth.

May we continue to seek Jesus in our hearts and make sense on who our God really is, in that way, may our faith be rooted in God’s kingdom and never ending grace.
