I found comfort in the reassuring words of “do not let your hearts be troubled…” I remember when I was young, I got lost in church, surrounded by many people.  It took me a little while to realize that I didn’t know where my mother was. The truth was, I was lost the whole time but I didn’t know it. When I figured out I was lost, I became scared, and wanted to know the way to find my mother. I was so happy and became relieved when my mother found and hug me tightly. My mother could have left me, but she didn’t because she loved me. Likewise, God loves us; Jesus Christ loves us. There will be times when our hearts is troubled – either by some circumstances in our life or in the life of someone we love.  Sometimes it feels like our world is spinning out of control and not sure if things will ever be good again.

In today’s gospel Jesus offers assurance and comfort for troubled hearts. It reminds us that through the cross and the resurrection of Jesus.  He has prepared a place for us in the presence of God. We just need to trust and obey Him. God sent Jesus to save and find us. Jesus said, “Let not your hearts be troubled.  Believe in God; believe also in me”. Jesus is the true direction; He is the correct path to take. The only way to get to God is through His Son, Jesus. We will be found and have eternal life if He comes to meet us. Through Him and alone, we have access to God. Jesus is the truth, the entire truth. He embodies the supreme revelation of God. And Jesus is the life. Jesus reveals the truth of God and life that is found in God. Lord.
