On March 7, 2026, parishioners gathered at the St. Peregrine Laziosi Parish & Diocesan Shrine for a meaningful Lenten recollection entitled “With Mary in Lent: A Journey of Conversion to the Heart of Christ.” The spiritual gathering provided an opportunity for the faithful to pause, reflect, and renew their commitment to God during this sacred season of Lent.
The recollection was facilitated by Bro. Noe Dora, head of the Association of Pastors Converted to the Roman Catholic Church in the Philippines. In his talk, he led the community in reflecting on the true meaning of conversion—not merely as a momentary change, but as an ongoing transformation of the heart that draws us closer to Christ.
Bro. Noe encouraged the faithful to look to Mama Mary as a guide throughout the Lenten journey. He highlighted Mary’s humility, obedience, and unwavering trust in God as qualities that every Christian can imitate. Her faithful “yes” to God serves as a powerful reminder that surrendering to God’s will opens the path to deeper grace and spiritual renewal.
He also spoke about Mary’s important role as a loving intercessor. Drawing from the Jewish tradition, he explained how Mary continually brings the needs of God’s people before her Son. Through her maternal care, she gently leads believers closer to Jesus and invites them into a deeper relationship with Him.
Through moments of prayer, reflection, and meditation on Mary’s example, the recollection offered participants an opportunity to renew their hearts and recommit themselves to their spiritual journey.
As the Church continues its observance of Lent, gatherings like this remind us that conversion is a daily invitation. May this recollection inspire the community to grow in humility, repentance, and a deeper love for Christ as we continue our journey toward the joy of Easter.
