On May 3 at 10:00 AM, the faithful gathered in solemn unity to celebrate the Fiesta Mass in honor of St. Peregrine Laziosi, marking a significant milestone – 300 years of sainthood. Known as the patron saint of those suffering from cancer and serious illnesses, St. Peregrine continues to inspire hope, healing, and unwavering faith among devotees.

The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by His Excellency, The Most Rev. Rolando C. Santos, C.M., D.D., Bishop Emeritus of Alotau-Sideia, Papua New Guinea. The gathering was filled with reverence as participants reflected deeply on the grace of God and the intercession of St. Peregrine.

In his homily, Bishop Rolando delivered a heartfelt message of encouragement and spiritual strength, especially for those who are suffering and those who care for them. He reminded the faithful:
His message offered deep comfort to those facing illness, assuring them of God’s constant presence and unfailing love.
He also highlighted the sacred role of caregivers, affirming their sacrifices and unwavering devotion:

Expanding his message to the entire parish community, Bishop Rolando emphasized the mission of the Church as a source of hope and light:
These powerful words reminded everyone present that the Church is not only a place of worship but also a living community of faith, compassion, and hope – especially for those experiencing trials.

The celebration was not only a commemoration of St. Peregrine’s legacy but also a powerful reminder that faith, prayer, and love remain steadfast even in times of suffering. The event strengthened the community’s spiritual bond and renewed our trust in God’s providence.
As the Jubilee Year of the Tercentenary Canonization continues, the faithful are encouraged to carry forward the message of hope, healing, and divine mercy in their daily lives.
